Exportadora Agricola Exasa is located in the heart of sesame state, Portuguesa, Venezuela. Our proximity to many of our producers enables us to develop lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with them, as well as the ability to monitor crop production and quality.
Our experience of more than 20 years in sesame business helped us develop a tremendous bond with farmers around the zone , assuring its product class through a quality assurance program. This program entitles to monitor the product from farms through to production and delivery.
Sesame is cultivated in the central western zone of Venezuela, propagated by seed sown in winter (December) and takes about four months for the seeds to flourish.

Sesame comes from…
Sesame seeds are derived from an unremarkable plant of the Sesamum genus and bears the scientific name of Sesamum indicum. Sesame seeds are considered the oldest oildseed crop in the world, and have been intentionally cultivated for more than 4,500 years.
Sesame is found in tropical, subtropical, southern temperate areas of the world, particularly in India, China, South America and Africa. It has utmost economical importance and is primarily grown by small farmers in developing countries. The plant grows best in sandy and well drained soil with moderate rainfall.
